Solihull Business Honoured at National Charity Awards

Published on Monday, 29 July 2019

Solihull-based BNP Paribas Personal Finance has been honoured by national charity Dallaglio RugbyWorks for its ongoing support and fundraising.

The company was named Corporate Partner of the Year by the charity, which helps young people into sustained employment, education or training through a mixture of sport-based learning, skills development and career taster sessions with employers.

BNP Paribas Personal Finance has supported Dallaglio RugbyWorks for the last nine months, with colleagues taking part in activities and the business offering the opportunity for youngsters on the programme to learn at its town centre headquarters.

The charity, the brainchild of ex-England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio, is a nationwide initiative but until it joined forces with BNP Paribas Personal Finance last year it had been completely absent from the West Midlands.

The support from the company allowed the charity to move into the region and help 50 children from difficult backgrounds to access employment and learning opportunities – many of whom had previously dropped out of the mainstream education system altogether.

Stephen Hunt, CEO at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, said: “Everyone at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, including me, is incredibly passionate about creating employment opportunities for young people of all backgrounds in Solihull and the wider West Midlands.

“Being a part of this charity for the last nine months is fantastic.  We’re really helping to change the lives of young people in our region.  We’re humbled to be recognised for our support and inspired to continue making a positive impact. My personal thanks go out to each and every one of our BNP Paribas colleagues who have supported them so far.”
