Online fulfilment firm takes Solar Park unit

Published on Thursday, 16 August 2018

A warehouse and industrial unit at Solar Park in Solihull has been let to an online fulfilment company.

Acting for Aberdeen Standard Investments, GVA has completed the deal with Western Post UK for 67,802 sq ft of space.

The recently refurbished unit has been taken on a 15-year lease, with the agreement including additional land which can be used to accommodate future expansion or provide more HGV parking.

Chris Kershaw of GVA said: "Solar Park is a premier division, 21-acre, 285,000 sq ft estate which has seen significant rental growth over the last few years. The decision to undertake a full strip out and refurbishment of the old John Lewis unit has proved to be well timed to meet the market demand.

"This unit has provided an ideal upgrade for the occupier in terms of both size and specification and the addition of the expansion plot provides opportunities to accommodate future growth."

Kershaw added that Solar Park has "continually proven to be an exceedingly popular location for warehouse and logistics occupiers".

"The ongoing demand for mid-sized units is proving to be a sustainable trend and we are pleased to have secured this latest letting."

Other occupiers at the site include Telefonica, Amtico, and Sytner.
