Solihull’s Crowne Plaza has been awarded Hotel of the Year in its brand category at the IHG Hotel Star Awards.
The hotel, which is managed by Valor Hospitality Europe, was judged against seven key metrics which look at criteria such as customer satisfaction, customer loyalty and RevPAR.
The Solihull team’s approach to community integration and efforts to improve carbon reduction were also assessed, with the hotel achieving some of the highest scores in all the measured criteria, beating numerous other Crowne Plaza properties from across the country.
As well as delivering outstanding guest experiences, the Crowne Plaza Solihull team has helped to spearhead Valor’s employee mental health and wellbeing policy which has now been implemented across its portfolio of 17 hotels in the UK.
The hotel was also the first in the Valor portfolio to appoint a mental health first aider.
Ed Holland, General Manager at Crowne Plaza Solihull, said: “I am incredibly proud of our whole team as it is down to their hard work and commitment that we received this fantastic award.
“Ultimately, we want every guest that visits the Crowne Plaza Solihull to have a positive and memorable experience and being named Hotel of the Year is the best endorsement of that we could have.
“We’ve put an increased focused on wellbeing over the last year and this award has shown that having a healthy and happy workforce also benefits our guests by having an engaged team who want to deliver the very best service.”
