Solihull Borough has significant on-going investment in the form of many major development projects coming forward, resulting in a wealth of opportunity for sub contractors and business to business,

Resorts World NEC - In early 2015, the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) will see the opening of the UK's first integrated destination leisure complex; Resorts World Birmingham. Construction of the £150 million 538,000 sq ft complex has begun which will comprise of:

• 170 room four star hotel with five star suites and spa
• A designer outlet centre with 50 units selling a range of discounted fashion, shoes and electronics
• A 11-screen cinema with state-of-the-art digital technology
• A multi-use banqueting and conference centre
• A casino offering a contemporary and exciting gaming experience
• A wide range of internationally-themed restaurants and bars

Birmingham Airport- Birmingham Airport’s expansion plans include extending its main runway to enable direct flights to destinations currently out of reach, such as China, South America, South Africa and the West Coast of the USA. The extended runway is due to be complete and fully operational in March 2014.

Proposed High Speed Rail– High Speed 2 will demand a wide range of skills across a broad range of areas as it progresses through the different phases of the programme; from planning and design to manufacture and construction. Phase One construction is planned to start in 2017 and is expected to support 9,000 construction jobs and 1,400 operational and maintenance jobs.

Solihull Town Centre – Solihull’s town centre is a focus of redevelopment and opportunity, including accessibility improvements, proposed new developments from large corporates, such as a new Waitrose store and expansion of the Touchwood Shopping Centre and potential for further town centre growth.

Business Park Developments – design and build opportunities on each of the Borough’s key business parks offer opportunities for local suppliers. A recent example is the £60 million state-of-the art Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Facility for Aero Engine Controls on Birmingham Business Park

North Solihull - Regenerating North Solihull is one of the UK’s biggest ever regeneration programmes and will transform the three wards of Chelmsley Wood, Smith's Wood and Kingshurst & Fordbridge by improving homes, shops, schools, health and community facilities, transport and the environment
