Technical Administrator Support (document control), EKFB JV

Matched to: Forest Oak School (awaiting match meeting)

Why did you become an Enterprise Adviser?

Starting in June 2018 I become a STEM Ambassador, subsequently taking part in:
• employment skills related activities (mock interviews, cv writing workshops)
• attending career fairs, skill shows
• participating/leading class room based workshops (building a marble run / bridge, project delivery decision games)
• Supporting Virtual Online Work Experience Weeks, designed to work on a practical engineering project

Following on from this in 2021 I became a Social Mobility Foundation Mentor, engaged with the Industrial Cadets program (panel judge and school support). I am continuing to participate work based school experience programmes.

What do you enjoy most or are you most looking forward to in your role as an Enterprise Adviser?

I am looking forward to working with a school to review the opportunities for ensuring that students can make informed decisions about their futures and the pathways for achieving this.

Overview of your chosen career or career pathway to your current role.

In September 2017 I was made redundant after working in local government for nineteen years across the West Midlands. My background was in community and business engagement activities from neighbourhood planning (future service delivery), consultation on implementing regeneration programmes/master planning and creating projects from inception to implementation.
After being made redundant I transferred these skills to a team administrator role on a national infrastructure project.
