Skills for Success
Skills for Success is an employment and skills pathway project part-funded by the European Social Fund.
Solihull Council’s Employment and Skill Team has been successful in a bid to the European Social Fund to deliver support to young people (aged 15+), in school years 11, 12 or 13 with understanding careers and learning pathways and developing the skills to make their best choice.
This support is free for schools and colleges in the Solihull Careers Hub.
The programme offers:
- a package of workshops to help prepare young people for the world of work and make them aware of pathways and opportunities available to them in Solihull including: raising aspirations, professional behaviors coaching and presenting and public speaking
- additional time for one to one support for those with additional barriers
- advice, information and guidance on apprenticeships, university and employment opportunities
- a team that prides themselves on their ability to build positive relationships with young people
- support with managing anxieties and worries
To complement the core offer, students can also access support from our partners:
- Independent Travel Training
- Urban Heard
- Solihull Frame Academy - provide young people an opportunity to gain new transferable skills, earn a qualification and learn what is required in a working environment.
