Resorts World Recruitment Open Day

The huge new leisure complex Resorts World Birmingham opens its doors to Solihull in just a few months time. Resorts World will comprise of; a 50 unit shopping centre, a 183 bedroom hotel, a spa, internationally-themed bars and restaurants, an 11 screen cinema, casino and a conference & banqueting facility. 

Ideally situated halfway between North Solihull and South Solihull, hundreds of jobs will be created when Resorts World opens in summer 2015. 

Resorts World are holding a Recruitment Open Day on May 6th at the Genting Arena (formerly the LG Arena) at the NEC. The recruitment day is open from 10am – 8pm and you can attend at any time. Most of the advertised jobs will be directly with Resorts World and there will also be roles with other business in the complex including facilities management, retailers and restaurants. Application packs will be given out on the day and you can either fill them in there and then or return them by post at a later date.

In addition to existing public transport links to the NEC, Genting are putting on special shuttle buses to transport people from Solihull, Chelmsley Wood and Birmingham to the Open Recruitment Event on May 6th. The bus will leave from the following pick-up points throughout the day;
• Solihull Train Station – Every hour starting at 09:15.  Last shuttle bus 18:15
• Chelmsley Circle (bus interchange opposite KFC) – Every hour starting at 09:15.  Last shuttle bus 18:15
• Moor Street Station, Birmingham – Every hour starting at 09:00.  Last shuttle bus 18:00
Even if you drive, it is advisable to take the shuttle bus as parking at the NEC is a minimum of £12.00 per day. However if you do want to drive, the postcode to use is B40 1NT.  Further details of how to reach the recruitment event can be found here; www.gentingarena.co.uk/getting-here


On May 6th you should:
    • Come to the event as though you are presenting yourself for interview, remembering that Resorts World expect very high standards of personal presentation
•     Be prepared to talk about Resorts World and be enthusiastic about why you would want to work there. Resorts World want their staff to be able to direct guests to all parts of the complex and be aware of all the services and facilities on offer
    • Bring an up to date CV that is relevant to the sort of work you would like to do
•     Smile and enjoy your day. Resorts World want staff with excellent customer service skills and a huge part of that is a welcoming personality
• Remember to switch off your phone whilst at the event!
