Job Purpose

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to learn all aspects of the trade whilst working with time served electricians on a highly prestigious development. Your role will be to support the electricians on a daily basis. You will attend college for two evenings per week to study for C&G 2357 which will lead to the AM2 competency.

Main Responsibilites

Working on the prestigious Resorts World development at the NEC you will be assisting commercial electricians in a variety of duties which will include the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems from the point where power is delivered to the building or site where building construction is taking place.

Experience and Skills

•You must have good English, Maths and IT skills – GCSE grades A to D.
•You must be good with your hands with an amount of manual dexterity as you will be dealing with small and complicated components.
•It is essential that you are able to understand and follow direction, as most jobs begin with a blueprint that details where electrical devices need to be installed.
•You will need to have a level awareness so that you can recognize potential issues and problems – you will already be a capable problem solver.
•You will be organized, analytical and able to communicate in a confident but respectful manner.
•You will have the necessary strength and stamina for a job that involves occasional heavy lifting and flexibility.
•You must be able to act on the instructions from a supervisor and work well alone or as members of a team.
•You will be based at the NEC for the first 10 months of this apprenticeship so you must be able to get to and from this site on a daily basis.
