Job Purpose
Providing a statutory service, the Post 16 Tracking Team supports the work of Solihull Council’s Employment and Skills.
Main Responsibilites
•Contribute to tracking the participation in education, training and employment of young people through direct contact via telephone, text, email, and door knocks.
•Accurate data inputting to the bespoke IO database, from information gained from tracking activities and on lists provided by schools, colleges and training providers.
•Signpost young people and parents/carers to information on participation pathways, relevant education and training, and national and local support agencies.
•Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external agencies including opportunity providers, support agencies, schools, colleges and relevant SMBC colleagues to gather accurate and current information.
•Continually review and actively seek ways of improving processes to ensure that they are effective and efficient.
•Actively contribute to working groups and project teams as appropriate.
•Make use of corporate social media – Facebook and twitter as a communication tool
•Support with the production of statistics and related reports.
•Quality check reports before sending to internal and external agencies.
•Assist in general clerical duties relevant to the Employment & Skills Team as required using applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and IO (the bespoke database).
Experience and Skills
•Significant experience of working with a range stakeholders such as customers, colleagues.
•Experience of using a range IT systems including Word Excel and Outlook (or similar).
•Effective written and verbal communication skills – using email, phone, text and social media.
•Organisation skills with ability to meet deadlines, manage competing demands and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
•Ability to work with highly sensitive information and data and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualification
Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent,
or able to demonstrate through extended experience the knowledge to carry out the full range of duties.
