Job Purpose


To be a part of a small team of surveyors responsible for the effective provision of a property maintenance service to our Council premises.

Main Responsibilites


• To monitor progress and ensure that all works are delivered to the legislative requirements, timescales and to a satisfactory outcome.
• To respond to emergency / urgent issues as they arise and manage these situations to deliver an excellent service to our customers and ensure a satisfactory outcome.
• To provide an advisory and project management service, including the preparation of clients briefs and preparation of scope of works.
• To ensure that where the Property Services Team has Legal and Statutory obligations on compliance for works such as asbestos, water hygiene, fire safety, lifts, electrical inspections and gas records are maintained up to date for the purposes of audit trails, and to assist with any investigations carried out by the Health and Safety Executive and/or other regulatory bodies.
• To carry out post works inspections to ensure that all aspects/elements of the original contract/works order and specification have been carried out to the satisfaction of the client and that the works are of the required standard and quality and if necessary to resolve any queries and/or disputes.
• Any other appropriate duties as and when required.

Experience and Skills


* Experience of fault diagnostic and rectification for reactive maintenance.
* Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrable understanding of relevant Health and Safety Legislation related to building equipment and services (Mechanical or Electrical Services).
* Experience of safe working practice compliance and enforcement.
* Knowledge and practicable understanding of current
• health and safety legislation,
• Business Continuity processes,
• Planning and Building Regulations
• Construction Design and Management Regulations


Qualification


* HND/ HNC in a Building & Engineering Services or equivalent.
* or the ability to demonstrate through training or extended experience, the necessary knowledge to carry out the full range of duties.
