Seafarers UK

Every year Seafarers UK campaigns for a greater awareness of seafarers and job/career opportunities in maritime seafareres week. Held in June, the week aims to raise awareness of Britain’s dependence on seafarers, the men and women who earn their living working on ships and boats of all shapes and sizes. Over the last two years, seafarers have produced free KS1 materials in partnership with Fyffes, showing the sea-going journey of a banana from faraway to the UK. Teachers and schools can request printed and digital materials for use in classrooms and book bags. Over 20,000 children have now taken part in the educational campaign.
